ET has the latest... John Mayer's highly anticipated Battle Studies, his first new album in three years, hits stores today and we have the music sensation talking about his all-new tracks and his team-up with Taylor Swift. "Keeping with the Tom Petty context, I'd written a song that was really straight up, melodic, to-the-point chorus and I was thinking that if I, in my little imagination, that I'm Tom Petty when I'm singing this song, then who's Stevie Nicks?" he tells the Fuse network. "And I'm very strange about getting other people to perform on my records because I want those records to be around forever and I don't know what someone else is going to do in their life. I was confident that this was not a gimmick just to sell a record and that was evidence by her coming in and us having a great time in the studio. Where she is is just fantastic." Mayer goes on to say that he's excited to play his new music for his fans -- and to mix up some of his biggest hits.
